Cochemiea

Cochemiea is a genus of cactus native to Mexico and the southern United States. These cacti are characterized by their numerous thorns and the cylindrical shape of their stem. In its natural habitat, Cochemiea grows in the cracks of rocks in small clumps of a dozen stems.

Cochemiea requires a very hot and dry environment for which makes its cultivation difficult for many growers.
