Lithops
Lithops, also known as stone plants, belong to the Aizoaceae family. There are more than 100 species of perennial, succulent and acaulous plants in this family. These plants are native to the semi-desert regions of South Africa and Namibia. The body of Lithops represents a water reserve, which requires limited watering for this type of plant.
If their color is often dull - sometimes changing from gray to green, sometimes from yellow to red, their flowering consists of very short peduncles, generally yellow or white and a yellow heart. One of the particularities of Lithops lies in the fact that the flowering emerges in the afternoon and closes in the evening, offering an undeniable spectacle.
